Last Wednesday we all piled into our Sequoia (8 of us) for a day-trip to see the beautiful red rocks of
Sedona and visit the artist community of
Telaquepaque, where we had a late lunch.

Mom and Dad trying to keep up with Daymond and Kenny who were off to the jerky shop!

The rock formations here are just amazing. We saw lots of wildflowers on the trip, too.

This is the little Catholic
Chapel of the Holy Cross that was built into the rocks of Little Horse Park above the city. It was designed by heiress Marguerite Brunswick Staude, a student of Frank Lloyd Wright, built in 1956, and is only wide enough for about 4-5 people on each side of the center aisle. It is quite stunning with views to match. It is also where John Wayne's
Angel and the Badman was filmed in 1947, before the chapel was constructed.

This is Courthouse Butte, now called Cathedral Rock.

This is Cathedral Rock on the left and little Bell Rock on the right, which is considered to be an "electric" vortex. It lures people right out of their cars to climb it without thinking about water or hiking boots...resulting in alot of rescues and accidents.
