Springtime at Bass Lake

Last weekend was a real anomaly for those of us who live in Bass Lake. For the first time since the early 1900s it was rainy and cold (it even snowed at Huntington Lake and other places in the High Sierra) all weekend and many campers/rental families went home early.

Needless to say, the moisture was great for the trees and plants who abide here. I took a couple of pictures of our iris in full bloom. They are so pretty at the front of the house and now the yellow yarrow is in bloom next to them giving a nice contrast. We still have endless walkers and cars who stop to take a second view of our yard and we continue to have people compliment us on how we have created a cool haven in our front yard!
Happy last day of May. Summer and hot weather are just around the corner. This year is just flying by, but we are looking forward to some fun get togethers this summer with family and friends. God Bless.
