Cambria waiting for us to check-in at the Holiday Inn in Auburn. We were amazed at all of the Cal Fire firefighters staying there and various trucks and other vehicles parked in the parking lot. There was a wildfire the day before (up on Highway 49) that destroyed several businesses and some homes....last night I heard 63 of them! It was quite close to where Todd and Sara used to live!
Coco's Day Care (Lolipops)We went in the afternoon to visit with Coco (alias Niclole) and her girls, Naomi and Gwen....and the rest of the children at day care.
The Mayer FamilyIn the evening we went up Auburn-Folsom Road to visit Rob and Leisa Mayer and their children, Tildn, Escher, and Surelia. We brought pizza and the kids had a great time playing together.

The AftermathThe next day we headed out to see the fire damage. We tried the day before but the traffic was terrible and everything was blocked off.
SleepoverCambria was invited for a Sleepover at Coco's house and she spent the day with her little friends at daycare. Sara and I took Carsten to Roseville to do some shopping at the Galleria. There are some new shops we enjoyed seeing and we were able to get some things for Cambria's birthday and kids clothes for this fall.

Suzanne and KidsIn the late afternoon we visited with Sara's college roommate Suzanne and her children Joshua and Brooke. Josh had soccer practice so the girls had fun on the play equipment and then collecting acorns (eggcorns as Brooke called them).
We headed home at around 6pm, with a stop at Wendy's on Mack Road in the Sacramento area, and made it to Clovis around 10:30. Carsten slept most of the way and Cambria enjoyed watching Matilda until she got too tired. It was a fun road trip!
