Fall Is In The Air

BASS LAKE HOME TOUR
The Bass Lake Home Tour, with our home one of six on the tour, was yesterday from 10-3. All indications are that it was very successful for the 3rd annual event and reports say ours was the crowd favorite for its "homey" attmosphere! We heard they sold 150 tickets and the proceeds went to the Oakhurst Boys and Girls Club. This is the board, located at Bass Lake Realty, with the pictures and write-ups on each home.

This is the flier for our home. Everyone who toured picked up fliers in each home they visited. The Bass Lake Lions Club did a hamburger barbecue from 12-2 for all participants.

FRESNO STATE VS WISCONSIN
We stayed until the docents set up and the first visitors arrived and then we headed down the hill to Clovis. We had a great little lunch at Dennis and Marsha's and spent a couple of hours there (Randy and Landon came for a visit) until we met at 3pm with our regular tailgaters to pack up all the trappings it takes to put on a great tailgate for 24 people!!! The rest of the group arrived around 4 for appetizers and we ate (stuffed tri-tip, my pink beans, salads, bread) around 5:30. We had some great desserts (Sara's peanut butter chocolate chips cookies, fudge nut brownines, and what Jerry labeled as the "ugly" cookies shaped like footballs with blue frosting and red sprinkles!!!)
Laurie and Daymond enjoying the crowd and tailgate. They will be making the trek from King City for three games this year.
Sue C., Priscilla, and Miriam enjoying some liquid refreshments and a "Bulldog Fan". Yes, it was quite warm until the sun went down just before the 7:35 kickoff.
Jerry, Nancy, and Kenny in deep conversation...Larry C. barbecuing the tri-tip and the beans cooking on the table burner.Dennis, Marsha, and Sara soaking up some of the tailgating flavor and waiting for dinner!Dennis and Kenny...that's trouble (especially when there are Wisconsin Badger fans in the area).
They even badgered a few Badger alumni (the tall curly haired guy in the middle now lives in Chicago and even auditioned for Second City intern program, or something like that. He said he loves the improv that they do.) All of this group got on ESPN's coverage of the tailgating with a professional chef who was BBQing everything under the sun for a big group near ours.
A couple of Sara's former Clovis West buddies stopped by for a visit. That is Sara, Lily, Mom Laurie, and Vern (Veronica).

The game was exciting...mainly in the second half. We were not blown out and really should have won the game, which we lost because of three missed field goals (freshman kicker) and a dropped long bomb which would have set up another score.
By the time we dropped off our passengers, all the trappings, and made a stop in Clovis at D&M's it was about 1am. We arrived home at 2am and litterally fell into bed. One solace is that the next game we see (we'll miss the Hawaii game due to a wine tasting weekend in Paso Robles which was booked months ago) will be against UCLA, in the Rose Bowl, and they lost 59-0 to BYU yesterday!!!
