Ken and I took a quick trip to King City (left a wedding in Fresno at 9pm) with an arrival time of 11:30pm on Sunday night. Mom and Dad left the light on for us...just like Motel 6! We had a great night's sleep and awoke to the smell of coffe at 7:30am. Mom made abelskievers for my birthday breakfast and we enjoyed some of their wonderful peaches on our morning cereal. Soon afterwards Laurie came by for a Happy Birthday wish. I had the most wonderful singing birthday greeting, too, from Uncle Danny. Thank you so much!
We took Dad for a ride over the the reconstruction project on 3rd street as we wanted to see the finished foundation and possibly watch the lowering of the house. No luck though as no one was there. (Come to find out this afternoon that at 2pm today it was being done...Mom is taking some pictures). We stopped at True Value Hardware to talk with Suzanne about doing the window covering for the house.
Then we headed for Carmel and one of our ATF(All Time Favorite) restaurants, Casanova. The weather was just perfect and we dined out on the patio. Their fish is always so wonderful and we had a smoked salmon appetizer and we both had a mushroom velout soup and their sea bass special. The shopping was great, as there were hardly any tourists, and Kenny bought me something very nice from Coach and some new jeans for the upcoming football season. We were also able to find a couple of things for Cambria's 3rd birthday next month at a great toy store there.
Leaving Carmel at 4pm we headed east, with a quick stop at Casa de Fruta for a sandwhich and drink. We made very good time and pulled into Bass Lake at about 7:30pm. It was a great day!
