Landscaping Progress

I took a few pictures just now of how the landscaping is taking shape. The only major thing left is installing the pavers in the patio, courtyard, and edging the cement. We are really pleased with how it is turning out. The contractor told me today that he wants to take some pictures of our yard to put in his portfolio! This is the front of the house with the garage on the left, courtyard in the middle, and the casita (detached bedroom and bath) on the right. There are two olive trees and three mediteranean palms, plus a pygmy palm and sego palm in the courtyard. There is a dry creekbed for added interest, running from the middle of the picture to the right. All of the trees have spotlights on them!

This is the right side-yard. We put in three trees here along with some other plants that will make a screen along this side for some added privacy and interest.

The backyard is almost done. Those are the pavers stacked in the middle of the picture. They will be used to extend the patio out arount the firepit on the right.

This is a better picture of the firepit. The acrylic flagstone finish on the cement patio is awesome. This part of the house pictured is our bedroom on the left, then the great room and dining room.

We have a nice privacy wall in the back of the lot and we put three each of yellow and pink jasmine along the back so it will spread and give us good color...and the hummingbirds will love it, too!

Evan took Ken and Don Beringson to the Phoenix Coyote's game this afternoon. They wanted a "boys day out" so I am at home working on the house and relaxing.
